Portrait Sessions and Prints Price List for 2009-2010
Digital imaging has changed photography drastically.
High quality digital cameras are now easily available and everyone uses them. You can easily make your own prints and even take shots on mobile phones and e mail them around the world. Such images can be great fun. What is not so easy is to take shots with a real “wow” factor or portraits which really capture the character and style of the sitter and show people at their best, images you will want to display and keep. This is where professional skill and experience comes in, and it is this and the considerable amount of time it takes to produce such images, which is what you pay for.
Session Fee + one 7”x5” print £25.
I aim to provide you with images of the highest quality. The fee covers:
Travel within 12 miles of Wincanton, (beyond that 25p per mile)
A photo session at your home or other place of your choice of between one and two hours,
The time, skill and creative input which goes into providing you with a large number of high quality digital images in colour or black and white in order to give you a really good choice at your viewing session (to be seen on computer).
All the Images on a CD with no prints for £80
For those who do not want prints, just images to view on computer or to show on an electronic frame. I will provide you with the full set of edited and manipulated images that I show you after the session burnt on a CD for only £80. You are then free to copy the CD, make your own prints or send the images as E mails or place them on your web-site.
Copyright however remains mine, so if any image is sold for publication, 50% of the price would accrue to me.
Framed Prints and Mounted Prints
In addition or instead of ordering all the images on a CD, you may prefer to order your favourite images to come as prints, framed or mounted ready for framing. I produce my own high quality prints mounted and framed in a selection of black, gold or plain wood frames, or mounted and ready for framing if this is what you wish. I also can provide A2 and larger prints for canvas wrap.
Framed A3 print £90 (11.5” x16”) with a bevelled card mount, framed 16” x 20” .

Framed A4 print £55 with a bevelled card mount, framed 12” x16” .

A small number of images work best printed square.

Papers and Printing
I use fine art matte photographic papers to enhance print quality. These papers are exceptional giving the images a distinctive finish with rich subtle colours or sharp black and white tones. I make my own prints using a top quality pigment ink printer to provide a stable, long-lasting image, often called a giclee print.
Album Option. From £200
Order twenty different A5 prints, mounted in an album for £200.
Add further prints to your album – up to 30, for an extra £10 each.
A3 Multi-Image Prints
With digital imaging I can design for you an A3 multi-image print incorporating several (up to six) of your favourite images. (Mounted only £90) Subsequent framed copies are £90 each. (mounted only £65)
Small numbers of images on CD (for those who have not ordered the full set). If images are required for web-sites or publication, supplied on CD £16 per image plus £2 per order for postage.
Special Occasions Package £600
For large group family celebrations. Five hour attendance on the day , a traditional album containing 50 A5 prints, 4 copies of the CD, a framed A3 multi-print, and a framed A4 print.
Special Occasions. CD Only Package - £400
Increasingly some are keen to have the whole story of a special occasion such as a Silver Wedding captured on camera and to have all the resulting manipulated images on a CD (Easily over 100 images) so they can be viewed as a “slide show” and to make their own prints. If you would like this option I charge the occasion organiser £400 inclusive of the session fee and provide 8 copies of the CD and 2 copies of small index prints.

Canvas Wrap
Canvas Wrap prints look extremely good where a large picture is appropriate.
I extend the print design so the composition is not spoilt by wrapping – as is often done.
The image is then printed on heavyweight artists’ canvas and stretched
over a wooden frame. The result is to give the image a clean, modern, slightly
textured look. This fits in well with rooms with contemporary décor.
These prints do not need glass or a frame, but if one is required the cost of framing will be added.
A3 print 18” x 12” £110

Remember
My images have been caught in a moment of time,
yet each shot has been carefully lit, posed, framed, composed and then exposed.
After that the image is examined meticulously, cropping and composition fine tuned,
colour and contrast, sharpness and softness explored, sometimes changed radically,
sometimes modified subtly. Attention is paid to skin. Blemishes are removed and lines smoothed so the focus can be on character, beauty, mood, emotion.
Only then is the image ready for viewing and careful printing.
