Seascapes From Jersey

The coast of Jersey has been deeply marked by its long history of invasions since William the Conqueror took possession. For centuries the French tried to get it back, and a ring of towers were built to keep them out. Finally the Germans invaded and built massive fortifications to ward off an invasion from Britain that never came until they had surrendered.
